... in which the fool commutes all day long

Now that all my exams are over, I can finally lay back and take a break (and start the Marvel game once all my players make their characters)...

Went to school late today, because I must have inadverdently convinced my body that I have no classes today (which is actually true, but I prefer to spend my weekdays in school in the hopes of accomplishing something). Slept through all three alarm clocks again for "just five more minutes" of sleep. I really have to find a way to wake myself up in the morning. Waking up late is almost becoming a habit for me (and what are we but creatures of habit, according to Aristotle?). Thankfully, I've already finished doing my laboratory report for the AM station receiver circuit, or rather, finished "adapting" my laboratory report so there was no need for me to hurry. It was already late anyway (the deadline was yesterday) so there would be no harm done so long as I submit it before 430 this day.

Yuso didn't want to go to school today -- he wanted to rest up from all the stress that he's been through this week. He just sent his copy of his laboratory report to Booboy (or so he says) and stayed home all day. He's probably playing Ragnarok Online at this point... Or he's probably sleeping. Anyway, I commuted to school to submit my report as well as my cousin's application form. Luckily, the jeep that I managed to ride on wasn't packed. In fact, throughout the entire trip, the number of passengers inside the jeep never reached more than 8. Too bad for the driver though...

I was really planning to watch "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" today, because I didn't get to watch it last Wednesday night... But, that would have to be after I finished my business in school, so I wouldn't have any loose ends to tie up on my way home. I thought it would be nice to watch the movie in Robinson's Metro East, where the transportation fee wouldn't be too steep, but I changed plans.

Called up my cousin to see if he would be in the Ortigas area in the evening. When he said yes, I automatically changed my plans to watch in Megamall instead. Took a taxi with Lassie (she had business to attend to in the Ortigas area) so that transportation fee wouldn't be too steep and arrived in Megamall with an hour left to spare before the next showing of the movie (actually, the next showing of the movie was around 30 minutes later, but the counter that I bought my tickets on wasn't serving for that cinema). Since I hadn't eaten lunch yet, I decided to pass the time at Jollibee (where they ran out of Crispy Hot Chickens).

The movie was disappointing. It was loosely based on Alan Moore's original story, with only the main protagonists matching the original graphic novel. The movie's main stars and the novel's characters personalities' though, seem at odds with each other. About the only good thing that I could say about the movie, is the semi-original story. And a few interesting fight scenes. The new members of the League though, had rather mixed results -- they were good because its something new, but not so good because it barely justified the purpose of adding them.

I had planned to stay in the Ortigas area until my cousin decided to fetch me. I was actually relaxing at PowerBooks reading Malaysian ghost stories when my Father suddenly called me up to ask why I wasn't home yet. I was surprised because I was expecting him not to be at home today and automatically answered that I was on my way home... Talk about stupid again... I actually forgot to mention that I was already out with my cousin and was on my way to Ortigas. Darn.

Since I mentioned to him that I was on my way home, I really had to make sure that I was on my way home. I had no choice but to travel home (thankfully, I still had coins left in my pocket which makes me wonder, if I didn't have any coins left, would I have remembered to tell him that I was on my way out?). Took the MRT back to Cubao and had an FX ride for the rest of the way. My feet feel a little sore right now, probably from all the walking that I made today.

I think I have to master the art of commuting from school to Megamall, one of these days. I mean, not just taking a cab to the place -- actually using public transportation vehicles on my way there. I'm a little unsure sometimes whether to take the left side of the station or the right side of the station to get to Ortigas... Got to use that means of travel more often. Alternatively, I'll probably have to look for that rumored FX ride from AdMU to Megamall/Glorietta. That would be the most convenient for me.

Argh. Nothing to do at home again. At least I know that I'm going out tomorrow...
