... in which the Fool makes a quick stop just for his birthday

Yes, some shameless plugging from the Fool from another dimension. It's been a long time since I posted anything on my birthday (since I didn't post for an entire year...) and I thought, I might as well do it this year.

Why would I miss posting on my birthday? Well, for starters, I don't have review classes today, that would mean that I should be stuck at home today (should being the effective word) and I would have no net connection. But thanks to some quick thinking, I was able to hustle some people into letting me out of the house.

Besides, its pretty senseless to spend half of your birthday in absolute boredom... Might as well find a way to get out of everything and enjoy the whole day. Not to mention that I had more important things to do... (*hint!hint!*)

So, after some lunch, I watched Fantastic Four with someone special... And despite my dislike for the movie (and the comic), I found myself enjoying the entire thing, watching them transform, argue, team-up, beat-up... Its just that the movie felt a little too "kiddy". I don't know why, there was nothing more serious in the movie than the Thing's usual problem regarding his looks (and Reed's obliviousness to feelings). I did like the change in Dr. Doom's origin, and I won't spoil it yet for other people who have yet to watch it. Its not as dramatic as the comic's, but its still ok.

I've also watched War of the Worlds. It was amazing. I never thought that I'd ever be scared in watching a movie, but that... That was impressive. I almost couldn't watch what would happen next (the movie is more sci-fi than horror) because I can't accept that humans could be that helpless. I don't know how exactly they did it, but I really felt humanity's helplessness against things from outer space. There was absolutely nothing that could stop the Martians!!!!

But I was really pissed by the ending though. I haven't read the book yet, so I don't know how the Martians really lost, but if the same thing happened to the aliens as in the movie, well, it sucks... It reeks too much of Deus ex Machina, in an age where people should be more... powerful I guess.

Or maybe I'm just watching too much of movies that are concentrating too much on people. Even the horror movies that I watch still portray the humans to be somewhat able to counter anything the ghosts can do.

That would be it for the meantime. I don't think there's anything more to say today... Maybe tomorrow again.

Happy Birthday to me...

Fire element
Your element is Fire. Like fire, you have a hot
temper and you can be warm and loving as well
and angry and wild. It all really comes down to
what you are feeling. You have a lot of close
friends who you are very protective over, and
with your temper probably some enemies too. You
are not Miss Popular in school since you are
your own person and don't want to be forced
into behaving this or that way. You are the
untamed wild horse, the kind that everyone
wants to catch. But you don't want to be tied
down for the moment and just keep going with
your little crushes. Your will is strong and if
you set your mind to do something, you will
most likely succeed. But beware, your friends
may not always accept your mood-swinging
behaviour. Even if you don't mean to be mean,
they can still feel hurt. You just need to
start thinking some things through before you
do them, and not always jump in with so much
courage. One day you may be hurt because of
that, but then again, your element isn't fire
if you start to analyse situations before you
act. After all, your nature is to shoot first
and ask the questions later. Rate and message!
