... in which the Fool rides the halo-halo express
Its been fun going aboard the halo-halo express... Or at least, that's what I call the unfinished MRT line 3 (or was it line 2? I can't remember). If you look at the train, it looks like a gigantic moving halo-halo due to the violet and yellow linings of the cars. Actually, there's nothing wrong with the train, its just distracting everytime you think about what it is you're riding on... A gigantic dessert that's moving along one of the most crowded streets of the city. Maybe its just me, but the thought, well, it makes me shake my head and smile in amusement...
Well, if you compare the looks of that train to the older one -- the one that travels along EDSA -- the older one looks a tad more... professional. Not that it looks nice mind you, just more appropriate (although the red, white, and blue coloring seems to remind me of something else) for a public transportation vehicle. Its annoying that its always so... filled though. I've only experienced sitting on the benches of that train once, every other time I'd had to push my way through a dozen other passengers all wanting to get to ride inside a cramped train car. It gets annoying.
The halo-halo express reminds me of what I said around four years ago: I'm willing to commute to anywhere so long as I can ride an LRT. I'm sure most people would be willing to agree -- after all, its faster (and nicer) to travel using trains. I just can't figure out why the country didn't finish the entire train system years ago (there are plans of building three more train lines after the halo-halo express is finished. The next one spans from North Ave. to Fairview, another continues from Baclaran to Paranaque/Las Pinas, and the last one is from... somewhere. I can't remember). If it were already finished, I wouldn't have any problems getting to any mall in the city! But that would also mean that I'd never have learned how to ride a jeep... Oh well. Pretty nice trade-off I guess. If you're wililng to endure around 30 minutes of traffic, dust, and smoke. Plus the occasional short walk.
Anyway, I've already finished reading through the trilogy. As I expected, the author used the same style in this trilogy as he did in his other. Same coincidental events coinciding with each other, same plot twist in the end, same pacing... but I could say that I liked this story better than the earlier one. After all, demons are more interesting than a bunch of "empowered mortals" aren't they (can't WOD just end the Hunter line of products, like they did with Wraith?)?
I wish I had more money... That way, I can buy all the White Wolf books that I want. There's still a good number of Exalted books that I want to have, not to mention the revised core rulebooks -- I want to see what's new in the Werewolf and Mage Universes without having to rely on other people's reviews. Plus, I want to see what makes the Demon: The Fallen stuff different from In Nomine...
Watched SWAT yesterday. The plot was a little too simple... Just like Pirates of the Carribean's. It was just an action-packed film with a simple situation (although I must admit, their situation was pretty unique. I haven't heard a mafia boss say that line before...). I wish I could've seen Sinbad though. Maybe later, if I find some money in my wallet... I kinda forgot to bring my money again today.
