... in which the Fool is tired from homework

In contrast to last week, I spent this afternoon looking for answers to my Amplitude Modulation homework. Its amazing how much I still don't know about the topic, and how much more I can learn about it, starting from its discoverers, to the advances that have been made to this field alone. It brings new perspective to the term "old technology" these things may no longer be used as often right now as they were some 60-odd years ago, but the things that people learned from them...

That's cool.

As a result of my research though, I ate up close to 2 hours just looking for the right answers to trivia questions. I wasn't able to read up on most of the other sites that I go to, and I don't think I'll be writing more than five paragraphs today. I wasn't even able to take the online exam that I planned to take earlier. But I guess this time spent on research was well worth it. I was starting to get complacent with the homeworks that the review center was giving wherein all the answers were inside the handouts themselves. It was fun at first, but then they got boring.

I'm still not complaining with their math homeworks though.

Boy, am I tired...

... in which the Fool looks for new deck ideas, and possible downloading material

I don't know why, but I can feel my interest in my review classes waning. For the past two or three topics, I couldn't finish the homeworks properly, neither could I stay awake throughout the morning. Its as if someone kept droning on and on beside my ear, making me sleepier, and sleepier, and sleepier...

I've tried eating in class, didn't work. I still fell asleep. I tried going out to take a walk, also didn't work, I slept at the bench just outside the class. I tried daydreaming, didn't work, I still fell asleep.

Which probably means that I should get more sleep. I feel like I'm not getting enough sleep lately (not true) and that my body just wants to snooze... Which it does in class especially when the lectures just go on and on...

Which was like this morning's class. I recall this class to be that one subject we had to attend every MWF morning, just to hear one old man go on and on about life's lessons. I didn't learn a thing because for a 50-minute class, he'd lecture something like 20-minutes, and the remaining time was a lecture about life, and why he needs creative criticism, why he won't get angry with students, and some other lame jokes that he read from some psychology book. Seriously, if you want to apply what a book says, you don't have to broadcast it to the entire world!

Anyway, this morning, we had feedback amplifiers. Meaning, we analyzed which types of networks need which kinds of amplifiers in order to keep the entire circuit stable and have a constant, reliable gain, important when you're designing a long-lasting equipment. I have to admit, the explanations were what I needed after spending one semester of listening to Homeroom lectures. Today's lecturer cleared up a lot of the stuff that I "learned" when I was still in school. And I understood exactly where I needed to place gain and feedback in a circuit. It also taught me that there was a lot of those lectures about differential equations that I didn't need when I was solving for feedback and amplification. As well as a lot of other important stuff about feedback amplifiers that I didn't learn before.

Unfortunately, I still fell asleep through a huge part of the lecture while sitting in front. I would often catch myself already leaning on my shoulder and nodding off, while the lecturer kept going on and on about series and shunt mixing and sampling. I swear, I still can't make heads or tails of those two things (I just learned it this morning). I'm just glad I didn't fail my seatwork as I expected I would.

Come Friday, I'll have to copy all the answers for my previous homeworks. I was too lazy to copy them earlier today. I'll also have to check what went wrong (or in this case, well) in my previous weekly exam.

In the meantime, no I will still not bother with this Friday's homework. Instead, I'm looking for something that I can use as my guide in making my deck for this season's VS tournaments. While I may have promised myself that I will not play in the Saturday evening games, I still have to practice for the next huge tournament, before Avengers and JLA comes near the end of the year. I promised myself that I would make a deck that would make a decent showing in tournaments, but its already July and I still haven't made one (my Superman deck is Golden Age, I'm looking for a Modern Age one).
