... in which the fool rushes it

Hah! Just finished emailing my teacher about my 2nd philo exam. Hopefully, I managed to squeeze my paper at the right time. Otherwise, I'd be looking at a big fat "F" for my rushed exam. I knew I should have got up at 8AM this morning to do it in school instead of trying to rush it at 10AM. At least I know I could possibly have debugged a bit the voltmeter circuit...

That voltmeter circuit is starting to piss me off... It reminds of a circuit that I was doing last semester when I couldn't figure out why the darned thing wouldn't work. All my connections were there, all the components were there, but what I couldn't figure out was why it wouldn't work!!!!

Well in hindsight, some people say that the connections weren't really that "correct". Sometimes, the board that you need to install components on isn't really that nice -- you might suffer from loose connections and you still wouldn't know until you break open the board and find out for yourself.

Anyway, I have this feeling that the peripheral circuit that managed to work yesterday is acting up again... Probably suffering from overheating or something like that. Hopefully my partner left me with a bit more work to do...

Oh yeah! The deadline for the other circuit (the RF oscillator circuit) has been moved to this Friday. Maybe our professor noticed the trouble that we were having with our other lab that he gave us all a bit more time to work on his lab... Anyway, I'm still thankful. I have a bit more time to work on that laboratory too...

Now if only I can find myself the time to work on the Malampaya project today...

(On a side note, I now have the Demon: The Fallen trilogy, courtesy of my brother. Unfortunately, something's wrong with the bindings -- they look like they're trying to constrict the paper inside the book. I'll have a hard time reading it, that's for sure...)

... in which the fool notices that he's too busy to write anything

It's been a week since I last wrote down anything here??? I've been that busy for the past week that I haven't been able to write anything down? Man... and here I thought that I put in the fairy tale article two days ago! I didn't even notice time pass... That's not good...

I guess programming a voltmeter is tougher work than I initially thought. Apparently, I've spent far too much time thinking (thinking is such a strong word... perhaps waiting for an idea to drop from the sky would be more... appropriate) how to proceed with that darn laboratory activity and I haven't noticed that I've already spent a good week (or two) wasting time... Damn!

Frankly though, I know that the program in itself is easier than I'm leading myself to believe... The idea is to be able to use powers of 5 to calculate for the approximate value of the voltage passing through the circuit at a time. The problem, as I realized this evening, is connecting a peripheral device to the microprocessor unit itself.

Well, not really the connecting, but rather, how to have the peripheral control and respond to the microprocessor... There seems to be something wrong with the circuit that I'm trying to connect to the unit, unfortunately, I can't figure what it is exactly. The program isn't responding in the way it ought to...

And that's the deadline for tomorrow. In addition to a 2-page research/reflection paper on the new natural gas rig that's located off the coast of Palawan. If utilized properly, the natural gas reserves under the ocean crust could actually take care of many of the energy problems being experienced by the country... Not to mention the money that it would generate if the fuel were to be sold to other countries. If we're lucky, the country could probably prosper on that find...

Plus, I have to finish an outline on ATM -- Asynchronous Transmission Mode (for communication between two computer terminals) -- by the end of this month for a group report this coming second week of September... And I still don't know a single thing about ATM. And also, I have a take-home exam on Philosophy that requires me to analyze a case according to St. Thomas of Aquinas due this Saturday. I wonder how I'll be able to finish everything by tomorrow?

I guess I'll just cross the bridge when I get there...

Oh yes... I still have to assemble an RF oscillator (I don't know what an oscillator is) that's due next Wednesday. At least I have the circuit now, if only I can find the value for the components required so that I'll just have to assemble it...

Agh... I think I need a bit of help (or rest. I wish all these deadlines would just pass me by without doing me any harm. I can already feel all my other hobbies whipping my back now, asking for my attention too...) soon. Or I mean... NOW!
